Why Seniors Auto Insurance?
Why is it that you should pay the same Car, Truck or Motorcycle insurance as someone half your age? It has been proven that Senior or Older drivers take less risks on the road and as a result of this behaviour are less likely to get into an accident or cause a major collision. Being part of a regular or non-segmented insurance program, your driving records are not given any special consideration.
For a better understanding why this matters, we must understand how insurance companies determine the rate you are charged for coverage. Insurance providers package up thousands of policies and then group them as one product to be sold on Wallstreet. In this product you will have good drivers and bad drivers - the risk that insurance company has to accept, directly correlates to the number of bad or good drivers in the package. If you were too package all the good drivers or older drivers into one group, the cost of the package would be a great deal less than if you included the high risk drivers.
So don't all insurance providers do this with their insurance offerings?? The insurance industry until recently didn't pass the savings onto the consumers. So even if they were packaging similar drivers together, they weren't lowering the rates to the aging drivers. This is why you need to keep your current insurance provider honest by searching for another plan or policy that will cut your rates. Especially with our current economy. People living on fixed income like most pensioners, need to conserve their income and cut costs wherever possible.
